Ensemble Flame : "The Pain and Joy of Love: A Thousand Years of Song and Dance”

March 22, Friday, 8:00pm

Embark on a timeless musical journey with Ensemble Flame as they present a concert that celebrates the universal themes of love through the ages. The concert promises to be a rich tapestry of sounds, with Ensemble Flame bringing to life the deep emotions and stories that have resonated with the human spirit for centuries. 

From the intricate melodies of medieval courtship to the elaborate harmonies of the Renaissance and the emotional depth of Baroque compositions, this performance will showcase the diverse ways in which love's pain and joy have been captured in music.

Join us for this journey through the ages and rediscover the timeless power of love as expressed through the language of music.

Opening Season Concert

Join us for an evening of opera! Love, romance, passion, seduction, betrayal, redemption and sacrifice all in abundance in one program on one night!  Enjoy our string quartet and fabulous guest vocalists: Maria Campo, soprano, Stephan Lee, tenor, and Estefani Lopez, mezzo-soprano as they perform at our beautiful, intimate Shay Hall.

Opera selections include music from Bizet’s Carmen and The Pearl Fishers, Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Delibes “Lakme” and other favorites.

Join us for a champagne toast and dessert reception at our garden courtyard as we celebrate our new season!

Halloween Spooktacular IV

October 27, Friday and 28, Saturday, 2023,  8:00pm

It’s alive!  It’s LIVE!  This October, we’re bringing our highly-anticipated spine-chilling virtual Halloween concert to the stage for the first time ever! All ghouls, ghosts, and creatures of the night are invited to join us for this immersive, atmospheric Halloween experience!

Accompanied by eerie visuals from the delightfully spooky mind of director R.J. De León Vega, You’ll experience everything from the haunting sounds of Hill House to some Stranger tunes from The Upside Down… From thrillingly fun Halloween classics to the macabre masterpieces of modern horror. Join us (if you dare) for this special night of Halloween magic! Goosebumps, shivers, and wicked screams await!

The audience is invited to materialize in costume -  A prize for the best costume will be awarded. It’s guaranteed to be an evening full of Tricks and treats!

Syrinx Reed Quintet 

November 18, 2023, Saturday, 8:00pm

From the music of the Renaissance to the Romantic, from classical, contemporary, and popular genres, Syrinx Reed Quintet is inspiring new perspectives and collaborations in sound.  Founded in 2018, Syrinx Quintet has won several awards for its dynamic performances, including the 2023 Beverly Hills National Auditions.  Explore the endless possibilities of the reed quintet through innovative arrangements such as Ives, Piazzolla, and Marquez, and original works.

Flamenco!

January 20, 2024, Saturday, 8:00pm

Passion and fiery performances will be on display as our music hall turns into a Flamenco Tablao featuring the world-renowned flamenco artists María Bermudez, Pelé De Los Reyes, and Andrés Vadin.  .  

Maria was officially named Flamenco Ambassador in 2022 by the city of Flamenco,  Jerez de La Frontera for her inspired trajectory that began in the 90’s. Her outstanding and critically acclaimed performances have graced the stages of prominent venues in Spain, North America, and the world.   Maria will be joined by Latin Grammy nominee singer-composer Pelé De Los Reyes and world-renowned guitarist Andre Vadin whose talent spans many different genres while highlighting the flamenco guitar as a universal instrument with no boundaries.  Don’t miss this special event.

We invite you to bring your family to meet our orchestra family!

Bring your children and their favorite stuffed friends to this delightful concert that demonstrates how sounds, melodies, rhythms, and instruments can bring music to life. Kids and stuffed animals alike will have an opportunity to discover the orchestra’s  woodwinds.

Under the baton of Sonia Marie De Léon de Vega, journey with us as we explore music from and inspired by the Americas. The concert begins with selections from Copland’s "Rodeo" and a spirited tribute to Latin culture with music of Argentina and Mexico. This sizzling concert reveals the soul of Latino music with thrilling Latin rhythms and rich orchestration. The concert concludes with Dvorak’s epic “New World Symphony,” one of the most powerful symphonies of all, a masterpiece that embodies the American spirit.

Led by violinist Yi-Huan Zhao, the Santa Cecilia String Quartet will blend the sounds of China with the Western sounds of the string quartet in an unforgettable concert experience.
